Big Snow Photos

Rate: 25 Flag

My last post, entitled Blizzard Photos, showed our recent snowfall-- somewhere above two feet. I took those photos in our yard. I hadn't ventured past our drive. I've been out some now. These are photos in and around our home in Petersburgh, NY (on the border of NY/VT/MA). Happy New Year to all of you!

Bullet holes. Probably a 22, not the norm used to kill deer. Says a little about our rural climate.

Yes, Julie. Buddy tries to catch the snow when I'm shoveling. Even after the shovel hits his head. He's not the smartest dog in the household, but very loyal; he follows me everywhere.
Your dog should have been employed by the city of NY.. he makes their expensive equipment look like crap..:)
No overhead except kibble too.:)

Beautiful scenery, last picture kind of shocking. Although out here in the country you are likely to see a similar thing.
Great photos. Looks like you won't be going too far for New Years.
Have a great one just the same.

Wow, gorgeous! I could feel the cold and the quiet that comes with this kind of heavy snow. Happy New Year to you!
Everything's beautiful after a storm like that. I'm always entranced by the contrast between the brown tree bark and the white snow. I especially love the photo of the icicles over the front door. Don't bother shoveling there, eventually it all will melt.
Great photos, as usual, Sheba. Happiness and prosperity to you in the new year. Keep warm. ♥
Great pics here Sheila. Love those doggie ones. All you need to do is strap a snow plow to them and let them run....
i can't even tell you how thrilled i am that you have a dog named Snott. best dog name possibly ever.

oh, gorgeous pics, too. the trees up on that hillside look like duck down, don't they? -r-
Beatiful pics as usual. I love the one with the old house. It probably held happy memories for a family in years past!
Beautiful photos. You named your dog, Snott? Too funny. -R-
Really gorgeous photography. Those icicles look lethal. Truly a storm to remember. R.
I love all your blizzard photos. My dad says, Where's the rest of your bio photo?
But for the last photo, were you the author of a calendar I could buy, I'd be all over it right now!

Love your photography! Beautiful pictures. You did get the snow...so did the Midwest. Only one foot or so. Feeding the birdies is my job now.
ANyone who names their dog, "Snott" can't be all bad. Great photos!
A lot prettier than mud season!
Gorgeous photos, thank you.
My partner, Bill, named the dog. Neither the vet or the neighbors will call him that. However, the name fits. He is the most uppity mutt we've known. For example, he runs away instead of greeting you or gives you the down-dog with his butt up in the air facing you. We love him. We took him at the request of the shelter because he has a bad heart. He was supposed to live no more than two years. He is nine years old. The vet told me last time that he'll die of old age as he is in such good shape. When you have 70 acres of woods to roam, it is a dog's world.
Nice shots. I'll bet you have some really good fall pics too.
Looks like heaven to me. Beautiful pictures. Thanks for posting them.
Does Snott have a runny nose? Very funny name and great images. I need to grab another sweatshirt just to look at them. Brrr!
