Returning to the woods: Photos

It seems like forever since I visited with all of you. My son graduated from college last weekend, so I traveled to the University of Kansas in Lawrence for that joyous event. A real treat. Come mid-July, he will begin a job only two and a half hours away. Since he has been 900 miles away for the last five years, I'm ecstatic.

Working for a living takes its toll, especially when I'm earning less than unemployment compensation. So, I'm trying to pick up additional work. This means lots of hustling and not much time for OS.

This weekend was a hot one even for us in the woods. Searching for the cool, I'm posting some photos to appreciate the wet and wild. All these wildflowers are blooming now in the forests of the Berkshire mountains.

Pink Lady's Slipper. One of our largest native orchids. I stumbled on a pair of these blooms on Tuesday after I returned. What a wonderful welcome home.

Miss you Sheba.. but I understand life comes first.
Congrats to you and your son!
Rated with hugs for these beautiful pics.
Wonderful! Just proves it is important to take time to smell the flowers!
Again, I am impressed. I know that I repeat myself, but you have this depth of field down. Not too shallow, not too much. Really good work.
I wonder why it's called a starflower...
Oh these are so lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Your photos bring those flowers to life!!

They look too good to be merely a visual treat - I find myself 'listening' to them to hear what they might say,

And reaching out to take one to see how it tastes.......

Refreshing! Thank you!
I noticed your absence, Sheba, 'tis good to see you. Your closeups of wild flowers are among the nicest I've seen. Congratulations on your son's graduation !

All yesterday I could not get back on OS. The internet connection would time out before I could get on the site. Thank you all for your comments.
