- Vanessa Blakeslee studied creative writing at Rollins College and the University of Central Florida before earning the MFA in Writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her work has appeared in The Paris Review, Southern Review, New York Quarterly, The Bellingham Review, Green Mountains Review, Southern Poetry Review, and dozens more in print and online. Her award-winning short fiction has been recognized by grants and fellowships from Yaddo, the Ragdale Foundation, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, among others. Vanessa is also a professional bellydancer with the Orlando Bellydance Performance Company and has performed veil, sword, zill, Romani, and assaya (Egyptian cane) routines.
