Inspired by Rob St. Amant, who in turn was inspired by Susan.

It's like poetry!
Thanks, lpsrocks. I've found that tight focus and a wide-open aperture is my favorite way to shoot.
Oh, my goodness, Verbal. I had no idea you were a photographer. These are amazing.
(Echoing Rob) No kidding, these are amazing. And we are sisters of the frog, as well, I see. I have a special fondness for frogs, toads, lizards, and similar critters. I'm so proud of you for taking a frog's portrait.

These also give a sense of the simple and beautiful forms that are the basis for so much Asian art. The dragonfly in particular makes me think of that. And Freaky's right--we have a poem here, people!

I'm thrilled that I could launch a cascade of beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing these. We all need a "Beauty Break" from time to time.
Ouch. Did I really say "launch a cascade"? I'm turning in my writer's license.
I'm sorry I missed these before I got inspired my ownself late last night. The itty bitty frog is super cool and the sacred deer looks, so, sacred. Beautiful.
Aw, thanks, all. I'm going back next Friday and dug these out from my 2005 trip to get excited (and to justify lugging the D200 in all its 5-lb. glory).

Rob, I wouldn't say I'm a photographer. I just enjoy taking photos. :-)
Gorgeous images Denise. My favorites are the maple leaves and the tiny frog in your hand. I linked to this page in my own Susan tribute.
How cool to have images of Japan that so not look "Japanese." Or rather are not what we are normally shown as typical of Japan.

I think I have seen that sort of blossom before. It was purple though. Do you know if that type comes in different colors?
I think the blossoms come in a few colors.
Another vote here for Itty Bitty Froglet.
I love that little thing.
Gorgeous! I just told Artsfish and I'm, copying to you:

WOW. You know, when we are all done deifying Susan, we could compile it all in a book and sell it.

Hey, THAT'S the way we'll finally get paid through Open Salon. Hooray! JD, you can come back now.
That's a beautiful frog. And a better than average dragonfly. I don't remember seeing a dragon fly spread its wings in quite that way before.
Love the pictures. Thanks for the message, and the way in which you handled it. Sometimes my fingers work faster than my brain.
That is hands down the tiniest frog I've ever seen, far smaller than our tree frogs here. Delightful pictures. :)
A frog as wedding ring who woulda thunk it? LOL GREAT shots!!
I clicked on your name when you left me a comment (Thank you!), and now I am jealous. You bio is clever and witty, now I'm a bore! But the photos!!! I love them. I am shutterbug myself, (and now realize I left that out of my bio). I almost chose one of my dragonfly pics to use in place of my photo. Anyway, kudos. Just lovely.
They are brilliantly, trilliantly photograph by you, i m inspired by you.
