This Shall Be The Daytime Base of Operations.
Bally's. Poolside. At least one cabana. Sunscreen, water, waiters with froofy drinks.
This Shall Be The Nighttime Playground.
The Strip. Relative coolth. Fountains and pirate ships. Free drinks at nickel slots. Bars and shows, if we choose to go that way...

This Shall Be The Place of Feeding.
The Paris Buffet. More kinds of food than any one human could ever possibly choke down just one bite of--but I'm sure we'll try. Yes? Who's up for sharing my crepes and confit?

This Shall Be Avoided At All Costs.

This Too.
If you're coming out to Vegas, now's the time to say so, and this is the place. Shout "Present" in comments and/or PM, so we can all coordinate/keep track of each other's whereabouts and comings and goings, and perhaps decide upon a safe, rational meetup spot!

There are still "Classic" and "Classic Deluxe" rooms available @ Bally's, although the prices are not so ridiculously cheap as once they were...
:-) Hope you can come. You've got my digits.
So, sadly, I will not be Vegasing.
I may leave Ann in the desert to be eaten by coyotes for good measure, though.
(thumbified with regret and sorrow at my inability to be in two places at once.)
Maybe we can bring our personal outdoor sleeping bag,
illegal Cuban cigars, alarm o'clock, cans of baked beans,
sequined red sneakers, Salon Pink Umbrella, doberman,
baby diapers, and poison ivy remedies to hawk for air fare.
WOMEN OUTNUMBER YOU AT ABOUT 10 - 1 RIGHT NOW.
If those aren't great odds for getting lucky in Vegas, I don't know what are.
Really, if anyone wants to room together with Lonnie, Sandra, Emma and me, let us know! The more the merrier. (I can see lonnie salivating as he reads this....).
CAN NOT WAIT!!
Be back later to confirm one way or the other!
OK, so that's me, Sandra, Lonnie, Cartouche, Emma, and maybe PF...
Uhm. We might need to find a place with padded walls, is all I'm saying.
Bob
"padded beds"? What's that supposed to mean? Or did you mean padded headboards? ;-)
They have both crepes and confit on this buffet?????? That might just change my mind about buffets forever---I love me some confit & crepes---together, alone, however.
I'll see you guys at the pool.
By the way, have you sen some of the ads I'm attracting on my "Relativity" post? Will making, memorial writing, transportation services for the elderly---I'm afraid to look too closely, there might be a Depends ad on the site.
some connects:
There's a thing there called Tix4tonight, like the half-price tickets places both here in SF and in NY - with multiple locations. You go to them Early, first thing, the day of a show, and get cheap tickets for that night's show. http://www.tix4tonight.com/locations.html
Closest Tix4 location near Bally's is Bill's Casino, essentially across the street.
Consider getting a player's card. If you play at all, you'll get points redeemable for meals, shows, etc. Bally's is part of Harrah's Inc.

If you want peace and quiet and some awesome picture-taking opportunities, go out to Red Rock Canyon: http://www.americansouthwest.net/nevada/red_rock_canyon/nca.html
Adjacent to/of RRC is Spring Mountain Ranch, formerly Sand Stone Ranch, with a very colorful history. You can take a lunch out and wander through this old oddly Hollywood-y house (read the history). http://www.sunsetcities.com/Red-Rock-Canyon/springmountainranch00.html
K, I've probably annoyed everyone enough. Have a great time, enjoy the cabana living, drink lots of fruity drinks!
But if everybody leaves early on the 20th, that leaves me wandering around Sin City by myself and that could get very dangerous indeed.
Thoughts anyone?
and yes, laddies and gentlespoons, depending on the availability of a wired DSL connection and/or my ability to tether a laptop to a 3G connection on my iPhone, we will liveblog certain portions of the festivities in multimedia formats.
i'd ask for more guys to make this trip, but i think i can handle it. if you never see me again after the 20th of July, you'll know that what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas.
I did check rooms at Bally's and deluxe rooms are pretty reasonable but only 3 people can fit in them. They're about $149 minus taxes. Classic rooms are about $122 but not sure about more than 2 people in those.
This sounds like a blast, and good on you, Verbal, for rallying the noisemakers. We may disagree about labels, but partying is partying and, at least in Japan, very cathartic. Y'all wear some neckties like banzai headbands for me, and you nine sexy babes who don't get the lone pot-bellied guy (shooting fish in a barrel, dudes! And with smart, funny, articulate women! This ain't your local bar!), don't be shy. Try it, you might like it. It's Vegas, baby!
::thud::
All I can say is that I hope what happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas. I want to hear about it all!
