Cat's Colo(u)r Challenge: Wine

Rate: 35 Flag
WINE
It cannot be coincidence that visually, wine and lifeblood are practically identical.
It stains my teeth black, not red.
Sometimes the nose alone is enough to make me tipsy.
It doesn't have to be expensive to be good.
Once we moved across the country with a literal trunkful of Trader Joe's cabernet. The rear shocks never recovered. Every drop was worth it.
My current sofa matches the dog. The next will match my inevitable drips and spills.
I love tannins--little socks on my teeth after each sip.
The shape of the glass may not need to be as precise as Reidel would have you believe, but a plastic cup is most assuredly not going to add to the experience.
A regret about divorce number 1: Leaving all the good stuff in the basement.

And a great splash it is!

Love this:

Merry Whatsmas, Verbal!
xoxoxo,
Take those clean teeth and set about re-staining them, lass! Nice post-styling as well...
I love this ode to wine. Plastic cups aren't so bad with cheap wine :)
i was nodding along with all the lines but especially the one about the nose. don't you just love the way some wines smell? damn.

merry whatsmas, cooking friend. wish i'd known you were in SF; i was up there eating my way through a bunch of great (new to me) restaurants. a foodie dream city.
"It cannot be coincidence that visually, wine and lifeblood are practically identical." How true! It's time to open some up...
When I first got to go to "good" restauarants, I remember asking for wine that stained my teeth.

I've always been an ass.....and continue to love great good wine. I miss it here in Mexico.

Great good love and regards, cookie!
Makes my mouth just water . . .

I like the way you describe your interior decoration choices . . . good thinking ahead!

Happy, merry, safe, christkwanzukah solstivalia!! ('cuz that's just how I roll . . . )
Yummmmmmmmmy color. I felt the tannins on my teeth.
No, it doesn't have to be expensive to be good--I find that after half a glass it doesn't really matter much!
My sofa matches my dog too :)
Splash on! Great idea, nice imagery. R
Glad to see the Wine Fans are out! :-)

Spotted, I have the lovely gay men at the boutique where I ordered it to thank for the proactive camouflage. I was thinking gold initially. They laughed and laughed. Hee.

Lonnie, for tonight only I'm sticking to white. Got to enjoy clean teeth for at least a day!

Lunchlady, even cheap wine tastes better in a glass!

Femme, we'll have to open a bottle once I move in two weeks.

Ginny, I like your style!

Cindy Ross, nobody invited you here. This is for the COOL KIDS. :-P
Jane, find both a color chart and a link to Kent Pitman's excellent post on Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) here at Ric Tresa's blog: http://open.salon.com/blog/rictresa/2009/05/16/custom_color_chart
I love tannins--little socks on my teeth after each sip.

What a line! Thanks Verbal and Merry Christmas to you and yours. Enjoy the couch.
"I love tannins--little socks on my teeth after each sip."

little teeth socks!
I have never consumed even a sip of wine, but still I enjoyed this.

Man, you should have taken some of the good stuff from the basement.
Screw the plastic glasses. If it gets to that point, just pass the bottle around!
Just finished a great bottle of Artistry.
It's not a coincidence. From one who has left a lot of good stuff in the basement---it is NOT a coincidence.
Cheers, and Merry Christmas!
Pour me some, will ya?
I'm blaming you for the third (fourth?) glass! I was stopping at two, but then read your post and stopped counting instead.
I'm stopping by--with my own glass, thank you. Maybe with a case of Trader Joe's whatever. Happiest to you!
Great use of color and formatting to bring out the life in your text! When I see stuff like this I'm really glad I took the trouble to write that CSS tutorial!
Cheers! "Little socks on my teeth after each sip." What a great line!
I'm thinking about a nice amarone myself..... Merry Christmas, Verbal. And may your new sofa absorb all the tannins and leave you nothing but the bouquet of good memories....
Well you don't need plastic cups anymore because I'm here with two glasses! My favorite colour
i like the dog matching the sofa one.
Salud! I'm not even that big a wine drinker, but the color of red wine has always been one of my favorites. =o) Here's to little tannin teeth socks at Christmas!

VR ... clever post; well designed, well said! But I don't get the knock(s) on cheap wine in plastic cups; two cup fulls and who cares ... 'til morning? Then, who's going to blame the cup?

And FYI, just last week in the Mall, I bought some really great teeth socks at the Tannin Salon ... pack of six ... one size fits all! great stocking stuffer ... Get it? socks, stocking? never mind.

I totally agree with you. I was just reading an article that mentioned red wine as one of the triggers for hot flashes, and to reduce them you should stop drinking wine. You know, I just don't mind my hot flashes that much! Besides, it's five o'clock somewhere and Christmas Eve...and you know what that means. Cheers, everyone!
Not too dry! Just right.

Merry Christmas!~
Lifeblood, sure. I could never get into that 'hint of oak' writing about wine. I prefer to outsource complexity. My liver couldn't afford the education. But, hell yes. Cheers.
Nice in all ways! There is real writing going on with this challenge! Congratulations.
