While reading another of the zillions of articles on the torture memos I was struck by a thought that hadn't occurred to me before:
Releasing a memo a day is torture to the people who signed off on the torture, isn't it?
To torture further, the president initially said that there would be no prosecutions. Then he said that maybe there would be prosecutions. What's he going to say next, that these six middle-management persons will be prosecuted, but nobody else? And then after that he says....
It all has the distinct aroma of blackmail about it. The blackmail odor was evident from the first news report, but the torture aspect - that took several press releases to become evident.
Wondering when (or hopefully, if) you'll get your Nuremberg wake-up call would have to be torture, wouldn't it?
And the world waits for the next installment of the long-running soap opera that is American Politics.

I'm not sure who'd be the blackmailer & who'd be the blackmailee, but they've taken the stink to the alley out back where they can duke it out in private. ;-)
