hi all. I should just let the links do the talking. it seems too good to be true... senate is close to an agreement on auditing the fed, with Reid supporting it, even as bernanke says it will make the sky cave in [as usual]. months go by and nothing happens, and then it all happens in a flash.

to me the audit should be unconditional, but the fed may yet figure out how to keep the GAO out of "FOMC" or "federal open market committee" operations. call me cynical, its probably another loophole big enough to drive an embezzlement thru, but whats a few zillion between friends?

and the word is that the obama administration is steadfastly opposed!! rahm emmanuel is said to be working against it, and there are complaints about it. it feels a little like a setup for a big Veto. which would be stunning if it came about, and a very big game of "chicken" that obama would be playing with the mass public of the US....

oh yeah, and the fed has hired expensive lobbyists to work against the bill/audit. hmmm, thats strange-- fed in charge of the US currency and liabilities, adding them at the stroke of Bernanke's pen, and then hiring fervent lobbyists to tell congress to Back Off. whats wrong with this picture? not much I guess, its just "business as usual" for the last century....

sometimes I like to imagine that doomsday 2012 will not be the end of the world, but maybe the end of the Fed?? or at least, the mass public slumber/hallucination/deception....? a boy can always dream....

anyway, this is the closest the american political structure has ever gotten to taking the Red pill, and it has the potential to be a momentous occasion-- or not....
