There's no stone tip. The end of the spear probably isn't even fire hardened. Then again it is straight and long making it easy to be accurate a long distance from your reach. It would even fly fairly straight if it was thrown. Not only our distant ansestors but people today could be found using a tool like this.

The article that goes with this pictures explains that the Capuchin monkey selects from a collection of stone tools.

There have been many stories about monkeys on the battlefield. I'll believe that article sbout the trained use of weapons. However, monkeys in the wild are very dangerous.

Hey everybody believed our dog loved me. No one told them that mom had to wipe me down with a pork chop first.

Wow great...this is certainly an eye opener. I have heard on TV that parrots turn out to have the highest IQ when it comes to problem solving. They really think outside the box with winning results every time.
The stick looks man made it's so straight.
ak---parrots are very bright.

nl---huuum---yeah it does
Vive Boulle's La Planète des Singes! I've read this book, in French, not to show off. Much better than the movie and I didn't know it until I read the book. I think animals are much smarter than we, as civilized humans, give them credit for.
I also liked the book, Alex and Me. Parrots are quite inventive also.
