Request for Congressional Foreclosure Panel to Examine. . .

Rate: 2 Flag

May I count on your help with this MISSION?   I hope you sign it, and ask others to also sign:

"Although increasing numbers of courts are continuing to reject improper and fraudulent foreclosures, the Congressional Foreclosure Panel examination of mortgage services and foreclosure practices did not include foreclosure lawyers.

Lawyers are officers of the court; knowledge of applicable laws and civil procedure is not required from mortgage lenders.  In states that require judicial foreclosures, lawyers are the ones who file lawsuits to seize and sell property; and lawyers are responsible for filing and recording foreclosure property deeds.

An investigation could prove helpful to sorting out whether improper and illegal foreclosure proceedings are linked to any self-dealing conduct disadvantaging lenders, investors, homeowners, and city governments. . ."

Signed it, and will pass it on . There are many unanswered questions .
Have you heard of this law "Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007" , it was introduced in congress on September 25, 2007 ,and became law on 12/20/2007 . This act offered relief to homeowners who would formerly owe taxes on forgiven mortgage debt after facing foreclosure. The act extended relief for three years , with the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 the tax relief was extended through 2012 . It implies that lenders would be writing off principal on mortgages, something that I have long believed was necessary to fix the economic crises . Something
the lenders have done very little of to this point . Thanks
Thanks for signing and your promise to get the work out, Park Row 1.

Indeed, about know about the enacted law, but it doesn't help people whose situation occurred before the law was enacted. Again, thank you for your support, as well as the continued encouragement that you have been to me :)
