As the small girl neared the looking glass she felt pulled towards the center of it. She was enamored of her reflection and moved closer and closer staring at her own eyes. She had been told in her town by some bullies that she was "scrawny". That hurt and she was thinking as she got within an inch of the glass that she was really quite lovely.
At the same time in another town in a parallel universe a small girl was primping in front of a similar looking glass. The people in her town had told her that she was the most beautiful of all the little girls and had crowned her with a tiara that very day. She glanced over at the sparkling head piece as she ran the comb through her long blonde hair. When she looked back at the mirror she saw a hand extended towards her through the glass.
"What is going on? Oh My! Who are you coming in here? You are scaring me!" She started to cry as the little girl from the other side of the mirror slipped all the way through the looking glass and glanced around.
"Where am I? Who are you? This doesn't make any sense. I'm scared too, don't cry." She tried to comfort the little crying girl who began to scream and push at her. They wrestled around in a circle and in a desperate attempt to keep her balance the scrawny girl pushed the beautiful girl back towards the mirror and she disappeared into it.
In a daze the girl examined her new surroundings. She realized when she looked at some photographs of the little girl on the dresser that they looked exactly alike. Then she spotted the glittering crown and put it on her head. She glanced back at the looking glass and saw the reflection of the most beautiful girl in town. She wondered for a moment how the other girl would fare in her town and then she found a small blanket and draped it over the looking glass.
"Dinner time!" she heard the mother calling from downstairs and she decided to wear the tiara to dinner.

Wise child, I'll remember to dine with those who see me as lovely. Thank you.
