6th Gallery Challenge/ Summer in the Swimming Pool

Rate: 10 Flag

Our little pool is only open in the summer.  So many people won't swim in it because it is open to everyone who lives in this little park.  Kids might pee in the pool I guess.  Frankly I don't care.  I love the pool.  It is eight and a half deep in the diving part.   Old California vibes here.

A great way to spend a summer evening....

There is an exhibit in Palm Springs near here of photos of swimming pools.

Ahhh...it makes me cooler already just seeing your photos.
I really loved these photos

As a child we had a pool and when my parents had their cocktail parties, they had water lillies put in with candles. Quite lovely. I wish I had pictures.
Beautiful cool and serene images

Zanelle, the 6th one is so beautiful, so tense and strong..as all of course, but this one, with the sun swimming in the water is magical. Thank you for sharing your work, I have seen you in this pool through another blog post you had and I knew you like summer. Rated.
A very cool pool. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't seen a pool like that in ages -- how nice!
I love how the light and water interplay in your shots ~
It's sheer serenity to swim around and when your head goes under and all is muffled...
I think I like the last photo the most. Something about the vertical pillars and fence reflected in the ripples appeals to my love of th mix of geometric and organic forms.
From 1992 to 2010 I lived in a Loft Building in Downtown Los Angeles with a lap pool and as I remember we spent at least six hours nearly every day engaged in marathon games of pool volleyball. We played two on two on short courts up to massive contest of ten on ten that took up the entire pool. The age range (10 to 75) and ethnic mix (Nigerian to Russian) of the players was extraordinary! It was my best experience of those eighteen years.
Nice and cool there. An evening shoot.
Great pictures, Zanelle.Love the one at sunset. I think it's so cool to do "themed" photos like this. Who would have thought that pictures of a swimming pool could be so beautiful, relaxing & serene. Great job (and no kids peeing)
You have such an eye for a great pattern! These are wonderful. The play of light against the water. Neat shots, z!
