Democratic Blue

Rate: 5 Flag

Obama has disappointed me on several issues like medical marijuana, trying Bush and Cheney for war crimes,  closing Guantanemo and compromising too much with Republicans but I am still going to vote for him as the lesser of two evils.

The color BLUE soothes me unlike that harsh RED displayed last week.  The work going into the Democratic Convention seems open and transparent, intelligent and with NO LIES.  Oh I know the Blue is an illusion too and that Obama is just another player in this game and not a savior.    However Obama has plans for the next four years that make sense to me and I like the No Drama part of Obama.  The idea of riding the calm blue waves of politics for four more years comforts me.  I hope it happens.

There are 100 more delegates who are Hispanic this year at the convention. Fifty percent of the delegates are women! Young voters make up a large block of the convention too.  The oldest delegate was born in 1914 and the youngest is 18.

I feel that there is much to be proud of here and I like that the world will be watching.  I was not proud of all that Red last week.  I was ashamed of the greediness and the stupidity.  With Blue I feel calm, secure and smart.

Clinton will be speaking at this Blue Convention.  Bush was nowhere to be seen during the RED Week.  His presence would have brought a blush of embarassing red and reminded people of the failure of trickle down economics.   The Blues are talking about building the economy from the middle class out.  That makes much more sense to me.

The Blue Convention will be in Charlotte, North Carolina.  It is a state that has a chance to go Blue but it will be a tight race.  The grassroots funding for the Blues is working and people are engaged all across the country.

Romney's speech got dismal ratings from the Gallup Poll.  I am very excited to hear Obama.  I hope he can ignite some of the passion that has taken a beating these last four years.   I also love to listen to Elizabeth Warren.  The Reds were so mean and petty.  I expect the Blues to be kinder.  Blue is a nice color.  Red is violent and rude.

Poliltico is circulating a petition to get Betty White to speak at the convention in a contrast to Clint Eastwood.  I hope she does it.  I bet she could ad lib it too and be a hit.

I just got another response to my ad on Craiglist seeking a tall liberal.  It is scary....

"I am RED.. like Blood RED. I despise Californian voters. I believe more like me migrate here from RED states and take this place and turn it over to RED side I also despise the BLUE blood, sissy, pant-wetting liberals. I believe whatever happens to this country in a negative way, it comes from democrats and liberals. Go ahead make my day, flame me, old hag."

I didn't flame this red fellow.  I left him alone to roast in his own venom.   FoxNews has lathered up the right until they are foaming at the mouth.  This country is divided right in half and many are saying that PURPLE would be a better color for us all.

It's not so much Red vs Blue as scared old white folks, fundamentalists and bigots vs the Rainbow Coalition that Jesse Jackson started and Obama has brought to fruition. But you're right, purple is what we could be.
I like the rainbow. I don't think red should be co-opted by the R's. Blue can be too cool, as can our President. I want him to speak with passion. Betty White would be wonderful, but she is very popular with everyone in the U.S. and if she comes out as a partisan, she'll lose half her fans. That creep who wrote you sounds like a heartless sicky. Be careful out there!
Red is for roses too, but I get your point, zanelle. I'm looking forward to hearing Bill Clinton and Elizabeth Warren as well.
Damn it Libby....you've got it. The color purple...love the idea.
I'm get me a purple shirt, plant me some more lilacs and get a straw hat with silk violets on the brim.
EEEK to that Craigslist guy.
