After many false starts, disinterest and angst, my mom did her videotaped interview with the Navy Nurse Corps today and nailed it. I was so proud of her excellent memory for all the dark and light moments of her career as a Navy Nurse.… Read full post »

Making real touch and hearing real drums
Knowing that my aloneness

We all need to feel the realness sometimes.

Magician Pendragon says, "Illusion IS reality". I hadn't thought of it that way. I thought there was illusion and then there was reality. Now I can see that the two might be equal.
I was looking at clouds today. Their illusions were reflected in the w… Read full post »
I love twerking! When I first saw students doing the twerk I was amazed that they could do it physically and fascinated at all the fuss. Now a principal has canceled a homecoming dance because she can't control the twerking. Ha! She wants students to face each… Read full post »
Oh, the agony of a toothache!! There is nothing quite like that dull pain that ebbs and flows inside your head until you are groaning and moaning, all bent over and pleading for mercy. It humbles you.
For the last two nites I have battled this ache in my… Read full post »
She scurried up to me on my evening walk with a purpose in her step. I listened to her high British accent for a bit wondering what she had on her mind and soon I knew. She wanted to know if I would like a visitor in the evenings.
I am afraid that the copyright people will come and take me away if I quote some of her words without their permission. So I have been thinking what it would be like to duplicate her stream of consciousness writing style with my own mind wanderings. I think she wandered… Read full post »
Staying beneath the radar is a nice thing to do. Just settle in below the turmoil and spy glasses. There will always be people who judge you so if you just ignore that and go about your business beneath the radar you can be true to yourself.

What a pathetic attempt at rain! This little dark cloud was unloading an impotent storm that didn't even make it to the ground. It makes me miss the deluges of Southeast Alaska where it once rained thirty two inches in one month. Of… Read full post »
The owl swooped low over the field and settled into the Eucalyptus tree. There was some screeching in the bushes and it seemed like something was being killed. As I walked over closer I wondered what was going on.
