I have them on my Iphone. Was walking in NYC after a huge storm last week, and around 8, and this sky was incredible, the very one you show. Everyone was stopping and taking photos with their phones. Will do a post and include it, on some of the skies I have seen lately.

The sky here looked like that about 130 this morning. Mr Raptor and I were standing out in the back yard looking at them for a while because they were just sooooo strange. There isn't enough light out here in the sticks for it to have been reflected light causing the color either... at least not at THAT ungodly hour of the morning.

This natural beauty is being brought to you courtesy of the eruption on June 25th of Sarychev Peak Volcanic in the Kuril Islands, near Japan. The ash and vaporous gases pumped into the atmosphere have created lovely pinks, oranges, and lavenders just as Zumalicious has captured here, all across the northern tier of the US and Canada.

You rock, patonmars! these cloud formations are usually indicators of tornado potential, so seeing Kansas in New York was freakin' us out!

the photos came from flickrphoto. anyone unfamiliar with flickrphoto can go to Yahoo and search yahoo for Photos, then for these clouds.

By the way: Flickrphoto now has direct upload to selected blogs. But not here, I really had to back door it.
