Happy Sunday

Rate: 11 Flag

Yahweh, Elohim, al-Lah, God is the presence
in whom my being comes alive
the core and ground of my existence
the infinite and inexhaustible ground of all being
the source of life and goodness
the fountain of all holiness
the originator of unconditional love and
the initiator of the Big Bang.

This presence calls me to fulness of life
to praise and thanksgiving
to integrity and wholesomeness and
to courageous vulnerable love.

Rabbi Jesus the Messiah teaches me
to live fully
to act justly
to love tenderly
to walk humbly with my God and
where necessary to lose graciously.

May I become at all times, both now and forever
A protector for those without protection
A guide for those who have lost their way
A ship for those with oceans to cross
A bridge for those with rivers to cross
A sanctuary for those in danger
A lamp for those without light
A place of refuge for those who lack shelter
And a servant to all in need.

buddhist - prayer of peace

For the expanding grandeur of Creation,
worlds known and unknown,
galaxies beyond galaxies,
filling us with awe and challenging our imaginations:

We give thanks this day.

For this fragile planet earth,
its times and tides, its sunsets and seasons:

We give thanks this day.

For the joy of human life,
its wonders and surprises, its hopes and achievements:

We give thanks this day.

For our human community,
our common past and future hope,
our oneness transcending all separation,
our capacity to work for peace and justice in the midst of hostility and oppression:

We give thanks this day.

For high hopes and noble causes, for faith without fanaticism,
for understanding of views not shared:

We give thanks this day.

For all who have labored and suffered for a fairer world,
who have lived so that others might live in dignity and freedom:

We give thanks this day.

For human liberty and sacred rites;
for opportunities to change and grow, to affirm and choose:

We give thanks this day.

We pray that we may live not by our fears but by our hopes,
not by our words but by our deeds.

we give thanks this day - o. eugene pickett

Happy Sunday Zuma:) As always you've found the perfect thoughts to start the day with.
Happy Sunday, Naneh! I just added the music and hope that you get to hear it. It is wonderful.
Beautiful! When it comes to spiritual music, from Tibetan Buddhist chants to Hildegard von Bingen to gospel to these guys, there's no subsitute for voice unaccompanied by instrumentation.
Ty & Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday to you too.

Living in a land that is ahead o America, we equally find it a blessing to find these words at the end of a Sunday afternoon.

I illkeep this in mind as I go to the evening service.
I specially like the Buddhist Prayer
"A bridge for those with rivers to cross"
That's nice thought for a Sunday morning.
thx
My first stop every Sunday morning. Thank You Zuma for making this a place for all people regardless of religion.
Happy Sunday, Ms. Zuma. Yes... I give thanks on this day! ~R~

happy sunday zumalicious.

peace be with you!
I really liked this zuma, especially the thanksgiving prayer at the end. If you don't mind, I'd like to recommend a Christian vocal group from Tanzania that I heard last weekend: New Life Band. If you have a moment, check them out at www.newlifeband.net.
Absolutely, Procopius. There is so much good "joyful noise" out there, and I love to find more good versions of it.

I had the most excellent time reading Monte Canfield's latest post today. He takes care of the deep thoughts and realities, and this one truly got to me.

It's called "Ethics: Written on The Heart"
