Snap! My neighbors were so excited.
They were yelling about a double
rainbow.
I said “Oh yeah, let me get my
camera!”
They didn’t believe that my cheap
little photosmart would capture the
true essence of such luxurious stuff
of nature.
But, oh, yeah. Between a Pentax
K1000 and my cheap digicam, the old
girl can catch a shot.
These rainbows lasted for about 20
minutes.
I just thought that you
might enjoy them.

Bubbie loves looking at rainbows- he calls them rainboats..
what a treat!
fireeyes: he is so adorable, with his language that he has. That's what I used to get the little ones with: "Oh...so you have your language now, eh?" They would giggle so hard...
Ablonde: That is incredible...I have a huge version that fills my screen and will look for it.
Jane: I've had that confirmed by so many people, but only after my camera was dissed for years!
And sometimes, the cheapie cams get the best shots!! ~nodding~ :)
wschanz: Kodak knew their cameras, that's for sure. I used to use their 1000 asa, because I HATE flash photos.
j lynne: You know where he lives? Get him.
Kris T Parker: OS had to have these.

If you have a polarizing filter and ever see such a sight again, snap a picture with the filter on. If there is a third rainbow created by this particular effect (actually, it would be the fifth rainbow, as nos. 3 and 4 are on the opposite side of the sky around the sun and aren't visible to the naked eye), it would appear as a mostly bluish green band between these two rainbows.
Another way to see a third rainbow is in a "reflection" rainbow, as here:

We are going to have some wild skies this Winter, and they're right outside the door here, so the camera is always ready.
