Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
praise him, all creatures here below;

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Blessed are they who give
without expecting even thanks in return,
for they shall be abundantly rewarded.

Blessed are they who translate
every good thing they know into action,
for ever higher truths shall be revealed unto them.

Blessed are they who do God's will
without asking to see results,
for great shall be their recompense.

Blessed are they who love and trust their fellow beings,
for they shall reach the good in people and
receive a loving response.

Blessed are they who have seen reality, for they know
that not the garment of clay but that which activates
the garment of clay is real and indestructible.

Blessed are they who see the change we call death
as a liberation from the limitation of this earth-life,
for they shall rejoice with their loved ones
who make the glorious transition.

Blessed are they who after dedicating their lives
and thereby receiving a blessing, have the courage and faith
to surmount the difficulties of the path ahead,
for they shall receive a second blessing.

Blessed are they who advance toward the spiritual path
without the selfish motive of seeking inner peace,
for they shall find it.

Blessed are they who instead of trying to
batter down the gates of the kingdom of heaven
approach them humbly and lovingly and purified,
for they shall pass right through.

It was the wind that gave them life.
It is the wind that comes out of our mouths now
that gives us life.
When this ceases to blow we die.
In the skin at the tips of our fingers
we see the trail of the wind;
it shows us the wind blew
when our ancestors were created.

Oh happy sunday Zuma! Wonderful words and pics as always. My favorite was the one at the end.
Before my father passed away, he always said he'd be in the wind, out in the deep forest where we hunted together.
Last year, when I was out there, I felt him in the wind, where I too will someday be.
Rated!
Beautiful and so uplifting...I love the autumn colors. I loved the last one, the American Indian one the best. Thank you.
Another Happy Sunday!
This will keep me thinking for a while:

"Blessed are they who advance toward the spiritual path
without the selfish motive of seeking inner peace,
for they shall find it."
My favorite place to be on a Sunday morning. I don't know what I would do it you missed a Sunday, so thank you and be well!

I love this...the whole poem actually. Thank you.

Happy Sunday Zuma. Namaste.
I love going to the Zuma church on Sunday morning. Thank you
Happy Sunday, All! I love the Mildred Norman poem, too. You will see it again and again!
I was just out photographing my yard and singing that first hymn in my head, zuma. Great minds, as they say! Happy Sunday!
Beautiful. You are my church service. rated
Thanks for making this a great Sunday! Andy: I am so moved by your story about your father, and love the idea of God and all who have moved on being in the wind, too.
Thanks for the good wishes and they are returned with interest.
Happy Sunday Zuma! As usual when I read them, it's the Native American prayer which resonates the strongest with me. So much wisdom was lost when we destroyed those cultures; we need to re-connect with that way of viewing ourselves and the world.
The doxology -- they sing it in baptist churchs and catholic churches, too. Even though it holds weird connotations for me (blame my childhood) it's packed with good memories, too.

so what does the Irish blessing mean when they say "may the wind be always at your back"? I prefer to envision the wind coming out of my fingertips.
Zuma, this is the first post of yours that I have read, and it started with a hymn I remember from childhood and church. This is a beautiful post. Thank you.
Outstanding choices! And I love that Peace Pilgrim was among them . . . what an inspiring story she is.
Happy Sunday, all! As always, I get so much more from your comments than I do from putting this together. Thank you.
Happy day, Prof and JonMagee
Thank you, late today but showed up for the words and pictures. My day is better now. My best, older/exasperated
O/E: There is no "late" to Happy Sunday, and I hope that you had one.
Sumptuous, gorgeous, thank you.
