I discovered that red and yellow bell peppers are mildly sweet after using them in a chow mein dish. I kept wondering where that sweet taste was coming from and it turned out to be those colorful beauties!
I decided to do something with some beauties that were on sale at Safeway. Then I found some green apples that taste like flowers. No kidding.
It all ended up with some pineapple, shredded carrots, fresh ginger, a light mix of mayo and pineapple juice, white pepper and saltz.
And voila! Take it. Make it your own and have this fresh and new dish on Xenonlit!
Well not ON Xenonlit. You know what I mean.
Sorry, Photobucket flash is broke and I can't resize.
This fine jullienne is fun and profitable! You can charge your neighbors plenty for bags of these. Those who are lucky enough to have a real food processor and not the Cuseenert 1000 from Kuala Lumpur that I got at the 99 cent store can do these in a snap.
Otherwise, just do the best you can.
Peel fresh ginger way down past the stringy bits to get the calmer center, then chop, grind or otherwise beat it into shape
Toss the peppers, apple, fresh pineapple, white pepper, a little salt, and the ginger and this is what you get! Add toasted sesame seeds, toasted almonds or walnuts if you like. A little cayenne is not out of the question, but watch the seasoning...this is a delicate mix.
This goes everywhere and on anything, but is so light, fresh and fulla super nutrition that it is just wrong not to eat it.
THE DRESSING
Make a light dressing with mayonnaise, ricotta cheese, or Greek yogurt mixed with the juice from the fresh pineapple. OMG, you will be in heaven and you won't know how to make your way back home!
A carribbean dressing is also good. "Jamaica Mistake" is the best.

oh ya!
How did you know that? I mean, unless you go around eating flowers, what would you compare them to? What kind of flowers? Does each kind have a different taste?
What kind of apples were they?
It all sounds yummy regardless of my reservations about the flower taste.....

Fusun: Yes, they are super foods. You must try some collard greens one day. Even better!
bobbott: you can go with anything up to and including scotch bonnets! But I like a little fresh tabasco pepper myself...whoo.
