According to the language of flowers, the Iris brings good news. The good news being that Spring is around the corner, and the lifecycle of flowers will soon begin. Dog Etchings, a great holiday gift

My love of dogs transends into my artwork . I started doing dog etchings with a portrait of my own English Cocker Spaniel Fergie. After that I started doing commissions for others. They are fun and make a great gift. I work from a photo and long distance is no problem! I just did a Lab for a women who live in New York, I live in Philadelphia. We did it all by e-mail. If you want the etching for Christmas let me know ASAP!!! The size is 5" x 8" and sells for $250.00

It happened again. I get my new issue of Martha Stewart living and the magazine is all about flowers. Every page is chocked with images of flowers, how to arrange, how to make silk poppies, how to plant your garden and on and on. I have so many ideas for Martha but I just do not know how to reach her!! I sent a portfolio of work to Martha Stewart Weddings, my oil paintings of bridal bouquets, only to have them returned saying all their ideas come from in house, Ugh!! I think I have such a great idea here if only someone would just give me a break. I have been to Bridal shows, spoken to florists, but not one bite. It is so hard to sell artwork. I thought if I could come up with a product that people would want , and combine my love of paintings flowers, it would be a win win situation. I notice that she features other artists that have wonderful things to offer, why not me? I LOVE to paint flowers, and I think Martha would love my floral paintings. My dream would be to have her own one!! Martha, the bridal bouquet idea is a great one, and if you say so then everyone in the world will agree!!! Silent Auctions

In my desperation to try and sell art, I have had to start to think creatively about marketing. Galleries are disappearing, in this economy people are not thinking about buying art. Recently, I have had luck selling my work at silent auctions. The very serious causes like Children's Hospitals, and Breast Cancer want a total donation , and that is my pleasure. It is my way of giving back. But just last week, I sold the above painting at an auction for a wonderful Philadelphia venue that provides artistic services. We agreed on a 50/50 split . I had two works up for sale and they both sold. If you have a benefit that includes a silent auction, please let me know. I have a studio full of beautiful work in all price ranges.
