Top Disney Pixar Movies 2010

It is rather a given that many people love the movies from Disney Pixar – no matter what their ages are, and many different people have what they would call “favorites”. For this reason, it would be tough to sort out what would be the Top Disney Pixar movies from a personal standpoint – however, in terms of overall popular demand for a set time period, there is such a thing as the “Top Disney Pixar” movies – and here they are for 2010:

1. Disney Pixar Up – This is truly an entertaining movie for both children and adults. The story is based on a retired balloon man who is determined to go against the rules he's being forced to follow and take the ride of his life.

2. Disney Pixar Toy Story – A classic Pixar animated film that has been around for quite some time is still topping the charts as one of the most loved (and purchased) movies for families. It is a darling story and is always good for a chuckle – or twenty!

3. Disney Pixar Toy Story 2 – This is (as you may have guessed) the sequel to the first Toy Story, and with a unique story behind it, it is just as entertaining as the first movie. Some of the characters are the same, some are new.

4. Disney Pixar Monsters Inc. – This is a story about what sometimes kids have nightmares about – monsters residing in the closet! A “portal” that brings two worlds together where the monsters are not actually “bad guys” at all – at least not most of them.

5. Disney Pixar Finding Nemo – A “little boy” clown fish yearns for more personal freedom and unfortunately finds himself in a tough situation as a result. An adorable movie, with unbelievable graphics that alone make the movie worth watching.

6. Disney Pixar Cars – A world where the cars are “people”, the restaurants are gas stations and the shoe stores are actually tire shops! But – that description does not do this movie justice. It is one of the most amusing and creative stories and is especially loved by the little “young men” among us.

7. Disney Pixar Wall-E – Here is perhaps the most thought provoking movies in the Pixar lineup in terms of its theme, and is also one of the cutest “robot love stories” ever. Very sweet, and like the other movies from Disney Pixar is more than just a little bit fun to watch.

8. Disney Pixar Ratatouille – What if…. A rat who loves only the finest cuisine, and has better mastery of his cooking skills than just about any chef in the entire world? A very cute theme.

9. Disney Pixar The Incredibles – In my opinion, this movie is probably more fun to watch for adults than kids since there are a few general ideas within the movie that grown ups can relate to quite well! But – also a fun movie for kids, generally involving a family of superheroes living among society secretly.

10. Disney Pixar Short Films – Although this is not a “movie” by definition, it most definitely should be included in this “top” list, especially due to the fact that it is quite a popular DVD! This set of short films includes some of the characters from the movies given above as well as some unique characters and stories. Extremely funny, and is a good movie to watch if you really need some good laughs.

As 2009 draws to a close, the number of movies for kids are not lacking in quantity - and the Best Kids Movies 2009 are definitely not lacking in quality - and sometimes some seriously good laughs!

Although there have been quite a few new release movies for kids, the actual Best Kids Movies for 2009 (in terms of hot sellers and consumer rankings) are a mix of new release animated movies as well as some classic remakes.

1. Disney Pixar Up

The Disney Pixar gang has created yet another entertaining movies for kids and adults alike! It's no real surprise (at least to me) that Disney Pixar Up is first on the list of the 2009 Best Kids Movies! The theme: An elderly balloon salesman that decides to make his dream come true in a rather unusual and quite amusing way, and he has some surprise "passengers" along for the ride!

2. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Even though there have been quite a few Harry Potter movies, this one does not disappoint. This is the sixth year at Hogwarts for Harry and his friends - and there is no lack of drama and mystery!

3. Coraline

This movie is directed by the same man who created The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach. Like those movies, this one also can be considered a bit on the bizarre, dark side. The story involves a young girl named Coraline who wants to see some major changes in her mind, and gets her wishes only to discover that things might not have been so bad after all...

4. High School Musical 3: Senior Year

This may be the final High School Musical movie - at least it is possible based on the fact that this is Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Chad, Ryan and Taylor's senior year. In the story, they decide to find ways to make it the most special year of their lives so far.

5. Pinocchio 70th Anniversary

This is the first of the "classics" to make the list of the Best Kids Movies 2009 - it is a delightful story and makes a wonderful movie. The digital version makes it even more fun to watch for kids and adults too.

6. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

The second movie of the classics on the list - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Like the other classics on this list this is a timeless story - and quite possibly has one of the most evil characters in the history of Disney! This movie is a favorite for almost
all very young children as well as a good movie for little ladies.

7. Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Mannie and Ellie (mammoths) have a little one on the way and their cohorts are feeling a little neglected and decide to take on some adventures of their own. Like the previous two Ice Age movies, this one is quite entertaining and funny!

8. The Wizard of Oz 70th Anniversary

This is the third classic movie on the list of the Best Kids Movies 2009. The 70th Anniversary version is fabulous in digital format - regardless of the format this movie will always be a great story for kids. (As a note, it is my opinion that the "Wicked Witch" is just a tad bit too scary for very little ones.)

9. Monsters vs. Aliens

This is a new release this year and is definitely a cute movie. It involves the idea of monsters actually being "the good guys" instead of the traditional idea of them being scary and forbidding. Reese Witherspoon stars as the main character and she does a great job!

10. Disney's Bolt

My personal opinion of this movie is that it may actually deserve a higher position on the list. It is a sweet and humorous story about a dog named Bolt who stars as a superhero and begins to take his role a bit too seriously. A funny concept and a great kids movie. Starring John Travolta as Bolt - and he does a lovely job!

Yes, there are other opinions and certainly there are movies that others will believe belong on the list of the best kids movies 2009 - but the fact is that the list above makes up the actual most popular choices along with some very nice ratings from the people who watch them! 10 Best Christmas Movies | Most Loved Christmas Movies Ever

Being an avid movie lover, and having a strong interest in what might be the true list of the 10 Best Christmas movies ever, I searched out what the most popular Christmas movies actually have been over a period of time. During my search I came across a number of lists that presented opinion rather than popularity by statistics - which is not what you will find here.

With that in mind, here is what I have found to be the list of the Best 10 Christmas movies ever - based on popularity over time and high consumer rankings:

1. Miracle on 34th Street - This is a story about a (very) young lady named Susan who has some trouble getting into the spirit of Christmas until she meets the true Santa Claus. A rather magical movie, and a great choice for entire families to watch.

2. It's a Wonderful Life - Personally I was somewhat surprised to see this in the #2 position rather than first place, simply due to the fact that I've come across quite a number of people that state it's their all-time favorite. Starring Jimmy Stewart, this movie conveys the true meaning of Christmas - a heartwarming movie and a favorite of many, many people.

3. White Christmas - The White Christmas movie is also a classic and a favorite of many. Released in 1954, starring Bing Crosby singing the title song of the movie. This is a lovely story and a choice movie for Christmas time.

4. A Charlie Brown Christmas - Ya "just gotta love" this one - who could possibly forget Snoopy ice skating on the pond with such a happy look on his face? But the major theme is Charlie Brown feeling a bit on the gloomy side, having a difficult time working out, "What is the true meaning of Christmas?" This movie has given us some of the most popular Christmas music of our time as well.

5. Scrooge - This version of the "Scrooge" themed movies was created in 1970, starring Albert Finney, and has been the most popular of the three similar themed movies on this list. Rather ironically, this movie has received lower critical acclaim than the other two here.

6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas - There are actually two versions of this movie, both based on the Dr. Seuss story originally released as a movie in the mid-1960's. The animated older version stars Boris Karloff while the newer "Grinch" is played by none other than Jim Carrey. Both of these movies are quite entertaining and appear to be about equal in popularity.

7. Christmas in Connecticut - Now - this one is an "oldie but a goodie", starring Barbara Stanwyck in the main role as a writer who is about to get caught telling some "fibs" in her articles for a major publication. This is a romantic and fun movie, originally released in 1945, based around a Christmas theme.

8. Scrooged - This is the second of the three "Scrooge" themed movies, starring Bill Murray. Anyone who has seen this movie might agree that Bill Murray plays a despicable and hateful character very well! He also plays up the part nicely when he turns over a new leaf and discovers the meaning of Christmas and the importance of his friends.

9. Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer - The "Rudolf" movie is one of a few different stop-motion animation movies narrated by Burl Ives for the Christmas season. This movie is quite charming for anyone to watch, and is especially loved by children. The original release of this film was in 1964.

10. A Christmas Carol - This version of the "Scrooge" themed movies was released in 1951 and has received the highest critical acclaim and positive public reviews of the three movies on this list. The performance of the main star (Alastair Sim) is truly amazing - a wonderful movie for anyone.
