It seems such a long time since I sat here to write a blog, but in reality I have sat here several times and started to write, only to find that I have come up with a complete blank each time. How many of you out there have the same experience?

The Easter came and went with disapointing crowds to the Races, Was this another indication of a further economic downturn, who knows, maybe the next races in July may fare a little better....Trouble is, Do I get another pig and try my luck or do I stay home and sulk?

The House of Commons (The Pub) has reopened, We move on, with new management and I love it, out has gone twenty or more years of tired and neglected decor, out has gone the tired and somewhat boring atmosphere, and in has come a brand new experience with young bright smiling people, a bright modern look to the decor, and exciting new menu's to ponder. Music fills the air with live music each Saturday night. Of course you can't please everyone and there are one or two, who, without really thinking about it, refuse to accept that we must move on. I raise my hat to the new team and wish them all the very best of luck.

I awoke this am and thought that I'd gone back in time. Trouble has once again stired its ugly head in Northern Ireland. I hope for the sake of the lovely people who live in that beautiful part of the world that it is soon put back in it's box and give the people the peace and hapiness I know that they so desire.

Well to say that I have not been on these pages for so long I still seem to be struggling to write something worth reading, but hey there is always tomorrow.

The new MK11 Hog roast BBQ or Deep Pit BBQ is ready to be tried and tested as the new Tourist Season comes under way....Mind you looking through my study window at the old Willow Tree and you get thoughts of a deep winter out there. The wind is blowing so strong for the time of year, the old Willow is struggling to keep standing upright.

So, we kick off on Race Day at Cartmel Races Cumbria on Bank Holiday Monday,30th May 2011 in the Village Square with what promises to be the best Roast Hog yet. The Beast will be stuffed with my special stuffing, the bottom of the BBQ will have a layer of smouldering Oak and Chicory wood chips to give that unmistakable Smokey flavour. The Pork will be served on sesame Buns with a serving of my home made special stuffing or Apple Sauce. So if anyone is free and in the area come along and say hello.
What on earth has become of Bonnie Russell? She seems to have dissapeared from the face of this planet. I liked her spunk.

I don't know too much about Blackberry winters. What I do know is that winter seems to be returning with a vengeance here in the UK. It's going on for 11 am and it looks more like the middle of the night with dark grey blue thunder clouds swirling menacingly overhead. The beautiful spring weather that we enjoyed recently has made way for cold wet miserable conditions.

Yesterday was supposed to be the end of the world, I suppose it was for somebody. But I awoke this morning with the same old crap being broadcast on the news, some footballer has been dipping his beef in someone else’s gravy...Nothing new there then. Talentless slappers are fighting with any means they possibly can to grab some media exposure usually with their silicone breasts swinging about like over grown jellies on a plate. But hell, they are making a lot of money from it.

The Government is struggling to convince us that they are getting things right. In one breath talking about the roll we could all make in society, then in the next breath telling us how many child nurseries are to be closed down along with care homes for the elderly. So at a stroke, this will increase the hardship felt by people who are already suffering as a result of the ridiculously high cost of living.

Last night we were subject to two or three hours of what is supposed to be entertainment. An hour of supposedly grown up people cavorting about with Snakes and cold water. Followed by an hour or so of more rubbish the X-Factor. I of course trawled through the hundred or so channels at my disposal, but guess what, more useless rubbish, or I had seen it all before more than once....So I went to the pub.

The media in the UK is at the moment awash with reports of the wealthy and privileged of our land, Footballers, Bankers, So Called Celebrities, Heads of Financial institutions, They’re all at it. behaving very badly, laying anything down that has a pair of long legs clad in stockings and cheap suspenders, puffy lips and plastic breasts.

Then they apply to the courts to issue what is commonly known as a gagging order to the media, and anyone else who may have a vested interest, in order that their sordid behaviour is kept a secret.

Normally I would be the first to declare, that as long as it does not hurt me or my family, what the hell has it got to do with me or anyone else. However, just recently a report has circulated regarding a Certain, Sir Fred Goodwin, who until recently held the post of CEO with The Royal Bank of Scotland. The RBS was one of the banks that got itself into serious problems a couple of years ago which resulted in the British Tax Payer Bailing out RBS to the tune of billions of pounds, indeed the RBS are still indebted to the British Tax payer to the tune of Billions of Pounds.

In this case I feel it has hurt me and my family and thousands of others in the same situation that I am in, i.e. a much reduced Pension value, and all because the people that we trusted to look after our interest, were too busy chasing some fanny round a Hotel room.

At the same time people like me who have worked hard all their lives and now in the Autumn of that life begin to look forward to a well earned comfortable retirement. Except that because of the behaviour of the likes of Sir Fred Goodwin, my pension is now not worth the paper it is written, but this philandering ner-do-well walks away from RBS with millions in Pension and bonuses from a business that for all intents and purposes has FAILED and failed miserably!

You see Sir Fred was engrossed at that time in a sordid affair with what has been described as a senior employee of the bank. The mind boggles, is this a senior member of the Bank or a senior executive of the Bank? Anyway the point is that I can tell you from experience,

"What a tangled Webb we weave, when first we practice to deceive"

Because that's just what it is...DECEPTION an a grand scale, Furtive meetings Hiding behind a veil of secrecy, your mind is definitely not on what it should be, you live in a different world, floating on a makeshift cloud, watching the world go by through misted eyes. you cannot think straight. You cannot eat, you cannot sleep, so engrossed are you with the new love in your life.

All this has got to have a impact on your rational thinking. So what effect did this mans affair have on his day to day dealings with RBS? Quite a lot I would say. In my view he should be hauled before the courts and forced to repay the millions he stole in Pension fund and bonuses as in my view he has absolutely no claim to it whatsoever.
